These glass micro spheres reduce the weight and density of slurries, lubricants and drilling fluids, because their low-energy surface minimizes friction and drag, improving flow. Chemically-inert, non-porous and non-absorbent, they are impervious to water, solvents, organic chemicals, acids and alkalis.

Hollow Glass micro spheres are strong, with a high crush-resistance (up to 10,000 psi) so they can survive the tough conditions and high processing pressures of the oil and gas industry.
